Bio

Extremely Rotten is a U.S. brutal death metal band formed in 2009. Rooted in slam, the band has toured across the United States, including Vader’s 2013 Back to the Black tour, and played festivals in the U.S. and Colombia. The current lineup is Juan Pablo on drums, Bill Martin on guitar, and Nelson Zapata on bass and vocals. A new full-length is written, with release planned for 2027.

Full biography

Extremely Rotten formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2009. The band released its debut full-length, Grotesque Acts of Humanity, through Show No Mercy Records in 2013, followed by the Zombification of the Masses EP through Gore House Productions in 2014. Both releases reflect the band’s roots in slam and brutal death metal.

The band has toured extensively across the United States, including Vader’s 2013 Back to the Black U.S. tour. Festival appearances include Las Vegas Deathfest, Gutfest, Chicago Domination Fest, Gored in the Heart of Texas, Mutilated Fest, SlamDakota Death Fest, and Bogotá Grind Fest in Colombia.

Today, the band works across the United States: guitarist Bill Martin is based in New Hampshire, drummer Juan Pablo in Austin, Texas, and bassist and vocalist Nelson Zapata in New York City.

The band released the singles Perverse Trials of the Inhumane in 2024 and Viral Genocide in 2026. A new full-length is written, with recording set to begin soon and release planned for 2027.

Venue provides

House kick and toms. Preferred: 1 kick, 2 rack toms, 1 floor tom.
Throne, hi-hat and cymbal stands, snare and stand.
Bass head and cabinet, speaker cable and power cable. Venue DI / XLR to front of house.
Guitar: 4×12 cabinet, 4Ω mono. Venue microphones the cabinet.
Drum and vocal microphones and stands, 3 wedges, DIs as needed.
Power for bass amp, kick trigger module, and Bill’s gear (2 outlets).

Band provides

Mono intro feed. No click or backing tracks.
Juan: pedals, cymbals and kick trigger module. May bring his own snare and snare stand.
Kick trigger: 1 audio output; jack type to be confirmed. Venue DI if ¼″ output.
Nelson: bass guitar.
Bill: Kemper modeler, PowerStage and speaker cable, running into the venue’s 4Ω cabinet.
Intro samples: Bill’s looper pedal → Bill’s DI → venue XLR cable, or Bill’s looper pedal → venue DI box.

Audio / monitors

Guitar to front of house: cabinet microphone only. No direct guitar feed.
All three monitors: guitar prominent, kick and snare audible.
Monitor 1: clear vocals. Monitors 2 and 3: vocals lower priority.
Monitor 3 on the hi-hat side, with guitar in the mix.
Keep guitar clearly audible in the audience mix.
Intro samples: mono XLR from the band’s DI to front of house; venue XLR cable / DI as needed.

4Ω cabinet unavailable? Arrange a venue amp and cabinet with Bill in advance. The cabinet remains mic’d.
